Position Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer leads all the engineering activities of utility-scale Battery Storage projects in Chile.

The candidate will organize and manage the work and act as the key technical liaison with client ' s engineer and EPC partners during the design, construction and commissioning phases of the projects.

Workingcloselywiththecommercialandproductengineeringteamandsuppliers,thecandidatewillplan the engineering activities and work through day-to-day issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providetechnicalleadershipandauthoritywhilerepresentingtheengineeringteamatbothinternal and external forums.
  • Manageengineeringconsultantsorthe EPCperforminggridinterconnectionstudiesasrequiredby utilities and ISOs.
  • Supportcommercialteamwithtechnicalrequirementsdocumentreviewand drafting.
  • Recruitemployeesandoverseetheir development.
  • Developplansandproceduresfordesignreview,qualityinspectionandcommissioning tasks.
  • Supporttheprocurementteamincontractingactivitiesbyreviewingschedulesandcost estimates.
  • Ensureengineeringprocessesandtoolsareestablishedand standardized.
  • Ensurethatproperdocumentationisestablishedforengineering records.
  • Developandmaintainrelationshipswithengineeringfirmsinactive markets.
  • Build,develop,andgrowanybusinessrelationshipsvitaltothebusinessunit's success.
  • Holdthedepartmentaccountableforallworkandissuesrelatingtoprofessionalism.

Qualificationsand Experience:

Fluentand Spanishand English Minimumtenyeardirecttechnicalexperiencefromanyofthefollowingindustries:
Substationor Solar EPC, Engineering firm, Energy Storage integrator or similar.
Workingknowledgeoftheprocessesandthetechnicalrequirementsprescribedunderthenational electricity rules, Experienceinworkingwithutilityrequirementsfornetworkplanningand/oraugmentationand generator connections.
Strongprojectmanagementandleadership skills Deepknowledgeinpowersysteminstallation,construction,designphaseengineering,local jurisdiction requirement, project scheduling, system layout design, SLD etc ... Thoroughunderstandingandproficiencyoflocaljurisdictionrequirements, Fire Code, Safety Certifications, Electrical Safety Regulations,etc.

Personal Qualifications:
Anexcellenttimemanager,abletobalancemultipleprojectsandprioritizeawidevarietyofissues, initiatives and objectives concurrently.
Goodtechnicalwritingskillsandbeabletodraftworkinginstructions, etc ... Exceptionalabilitytosimplifyandreportcomplicatedscenariostothemanagementteam,with outstanding judgment and decision-making abilities.
Abilitytoestablishandmaintaineffectiveworkingrelationshipsinternallyandexternallywithstaff, management, clients,suppliers, community partners and external stakeholders.
Demonstratedsoundjudgmentandtheabilitytobedecisiveincrisis situations.
Abilitytoworkflexiblehours(evenings)andtraveltoprojectsitesas required.
Willingandabletotravel,domesticallyandinternationally,upto50%ofthe time.
