About the position


Council's Sustainable Assets Department is looking for a Sustainable Energy Officer who will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Council's energy and emissions reduction in line with Council's Climate Change Strategy and emissions targets.


The main responsibilities will include:

  • Greenhouse gas reporting of Council's and communities emissions;
  • Identifying energy efficiency initiatives, creating, managing and implementing projects; and
  • Providing Environmentally Sustainable Design advice.
This is a temporary full time position ending on 23 February 2024.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in the area of Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Carbon Management, or related discipline;
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in the areas of energy conservation and greenhouse gas emissions reduction; and
  • Comprehensive greenhouse and carbon accounting, data management and reporting experience and use of databases for monitoring energy and greenhouse gas emissions.
