Job Description:

Day to day you will:

Role and Responsibilities

  • Shift, lift, erect, dismantle, move, and clean sets with a maximum individual lifting load not exceeding 25kg
  • Ensure studio areas are always kept clean
  • Perform role of cable hand in studio and sometimes at Outside Broadcasts
  • Help manage and run various cables on outside broadcasts
  • Load sets in and out of trucks to storage or outside broadcasts
  • Movements of sets to and from outside storage facilities
  • Ensures sets are moved with no damage
  • Follows direction from appropriate staff both in the studio and on outside broadcasts.
  • Ensure that OH&S is always a priority before, during and after a Television production
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and conduct themselves in accordance with the Nine Network Australia Employee code of conduct
  • Identify, report or act upon hazards either in studio or on outside broadcasts
  • Report any damages of lighting equipment to senior technical staff or your supervisor

Pre-Production

  • Set studio as per show requirements
  • Check any changes with Director/Producers/Floor Manager
  • Assist floor crew where necessary
  • Attend ALL crew Production Meetings if necessary
  • Be prepared for any prerecords/rehearsals etc.

Live On Air

  • Be on standby for instructions from the Floor Manager or Senior Stagehand
  • Look ahead and be prepared for upcoming segments

Qualifications:

In order to be successful for this role, you will have:

Essential Equipment Knowledge & Experience

  • Driver's license
  • Basic knowledge of OH&S regulations
