ABOUT THE ROLE:

Summary of the role:


This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 2 Dietitian to join our supportive and friendly Dietetics department and an expanding health service that is committed to ensuring high quality, evidence-based, person-centred, safe and effective patient care.


This position will be an integral part of the Werribee Mercy project team for the Department of Health Surgical Reform Initiative to enhance surgical activity and will include the opportunity to be involved in service planning and development as well as providing contemporary care to patients within surgical services.


  • Grade 2 Dietitian, part time, 0.6EFT, fixed term to 30 June 2023 (may be extended)
  • Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital easy commute and access to public transport
  • Great opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to establish new surgical initiatives
  • Strong emphasis on undertaking and leading quality and innovation activities

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, Master of Dietetics or equivalent qualification
  • Eligible for membership to the Dietitians Australia and APD status
  • Strong, clinical skills and relevant experience
  • Proven highly effective clinical leadership capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills and practices with a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • High level working knowledge of current evidence based practices and a commitment to quality improvement, clinical research and professional development of self and others

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne. Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care.

The hospital has recently undergone significant expansion with the opening or our new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.
