About the role

This exciting permanent full-time leadership role, reporting into the Medical Director Pathology Services, provides transfusion medicine and pathology oversight, including in the area of transfusion related molecular genetic testing.

In this role you will be at the forefront of Lifeblood's development of molecular haematology and sharing your expertise to expand our capability.


You will also play a key role in our team, providing transfusion medicine specialist advice both internal and externally to deliver exceptional services.

Sound interesting? Here's what we're looking for;
A Medical Degree, with current Medical Board of Australia registration

Fellowship with the RACP, RCPA

RCPA Extension of Scope of Practice in Molecular Genetics (NPAAC Supervision Certification Modules) or suitable experience to enable rapid attainment of this certification

Demonstrated experience in the practice of haematology, blood banking, transfusion medicine or related relevant field

Excellent people leadership skills with experience managing a multi-disciplinary team

Ability to work in collaboration with colleagues in other divisions and as a member of a team.

Utilise initiative with demonstrated problem solving skills, to provide expert medical advice and direction within Lifeblood

An excellent communicator, both written and verbally, with experience developing expert clinical position papers, and contribute to/lead emerging practice innovations

Able to anticipate and respond to new initiatives, changing conditions and shifting priorities

This is a permanent, full-time role based out of our Brisbane Processing Centre. Please note after a period of orientation and training you will contribute to the afterhours on call roster.
