The Marketing Manager is in many ways the conductor of Variety SA's voice, tasked with educating, informing and inspiring the internal and external communities of who we are, what we do and for whom.

You will lead a small but creative marketing team with a lot to say about our states preeminent children's charities.


The Marketing Manager is a full time position responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the organisations marketing strategies, marketing communications and public relations activities, both external and internal.

This role oversees and coordinates the strategic and tactical levels of the overall marketing and communications plan, as well as the development and implementation of support materials and services in the marketing, communication and public relations areas.


This dynamic individual works closely with the CEO and senior Variety management team to support the achievement of revenue targets and event KPI's.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Leveraging and enhancing the inherent brand value of Variety in a creative, innovative, and resourceful manner to ensure Variety the Children's Charity is recognised as a premier notforprofit organisation in South Australia.
  • Work with the management team and staff to build and refine the CRM approach and customer portal systems
  • Work with the CEO to identify areas for improvement and plan enhancements across the technology for each stakeholder group
  • Network, collaborate and work with external agencies, consultants and suppliers and bring experience in managing these specialist relationships from initial briefing through to delivery
  • Deliver a pipeline of stories showcasing the work that Variety does to support fundraising and brand initiatives.
  • Take ownership of creating content for key communications channels including but not limited to newsletters and social media platforms that show Variety as a leading children's charity in Australia and nurtures supporters.
  • Work with the team on key media coverage to raise awareness of our work.
  • Oversee the writing copy for printed collateral, newsletters, websites, EDMs, advertising, social media, and PR
  • Ensure marketing and communications content is consistent with the Australian Variety Brand Book
  • Oversee Variety's website and digital communication platforms including Salesforce Pardot
  • Ensure Variety is promoted in a positive manner at every opportunity
  • Build the profile of Variety SA in the local community.
  • Other reasonable duties as required

IDEALLY YOU WILL HAVE

  • A minimum 5 years Marketing Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing a high
- level marketing and communications plan

  • Corporate relationship management and client liaison
  • Extensive personal relationships with all forms of media
  • Strong interpersonal skills that are effective at all levels
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A deadly eye for detail
  • Be Creative, innovative, resourceful, strategic, analytical
  • Experience writing for a diverse range of audiences and communications channels, creating content that resonates with each and helps drive fundraising and brand KPIS
  • Keep uptodate and accurate records in relation to activities, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the database and all communication systems
  • High level of computer literacy (knowledge of Salesforce, Pardot, Raisely, Humanitix, Office 365, WordPress and Canva would be an advantage).
  • A strong work ethic, trustworthy and reliable.
  • Passion for storytelling and an understanding of the power of words to influence.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to deliver outstanding service to internal contact.
  • Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline and/or relevant equivalent work experience
  • Highly motivated, with a willingness to cover all nature of tasks and do whatever needs doing.
  • Innovative, flexible and adaptable with an ability to thrive under pressure and enjoy new challenges.
  • Compassionate attitude and understanding of the needs of people in crisis.
  • Strong interest in how to benefit South Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with special needs.
