As an Adviser, Corporate Communications with Commonwealth Bank's Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) team, you'll help engage our customers, communities and our people through the power of storytelling.


In this entry-level role you'll be working with skilled communications professionals, and have the opportunity to deepen your experience in planning, designing and executing internal and external communication campaigns that earn trust by building advocacy.


You'll contribute to the varied drumbeat of communications that keep the people of Australia's largest bank inspired, aligned and integrated, while also playing an important role in some of the bank's significant customer, stakeholder and employee events.

Do work that matters:

Communication:

  • Draft engaging and compelling content about the bank's people and customers that highlights our purpose, values and strategy in action
  • Effectively employ all communication channels, including events, social and visual media, to tell a great story
  • Play an important supporting role in planning and implementing proactive, impactful communications strategies and campaigns to enhance CBA's brand and reputation with internal and external audiences
  • Manage executive correspondence, with great attention to detail, excellent record keeping and deep respect for our stakeholders

Planning and delivery:

  • Support senior leaders with annual, quarterly and campaignrelated communication planning, using agile and digital tools
  • Contribute to regular measurement and reporting cycles to assess the effectiveness of communication activities
  • Ability and willingness to work on and across multiple projects and team at the same time

Channel management:

  • Author and post engaging intranet content and be part of the bank's internal editorial community
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to plan for executive trips and visits, including preparing required briefing materials
  • Create event related communications, including briefing notes and toolkits, invitations, social media posts, and pre
- and post-event stories

  • Help design and execute in person and virtual events, including working with internal stakeholders and external service providers, such as venues, video and webcast crew, photographers, guest speakers
  • Develop run sheets, projects plans and measurement methods to support and execute events

Relationships and risk:

  • Develop close working relationships with teams across MCA and the business to drive greater impact
  • Have a keen sense for potential risk and reputational issues and effectively manage risk as it relates to your role.

  • Enthusiasm for storytelling with an eye for identifying and capturing good content and telling stories that are compelling and persuasive through the best channel.
  • Experience with and/or tertiary qualifications in communications
  • Attention to detail and willingness to help solve problems, identify risks and get things done
