Your role and responsibilities

As an Account Manager for ABB's Energy Solutions business, you will lead the development and execution of the GoToMarket Strategy. This involves collaborating closely with Segment Sales Manager, Country Local Division Managers, and other stakeholders like Operations, Services, and Supply Chain to align with ABB's Corporate objectives. Your focus will be on the East Australian market and assigned accounts, driving orders, margins, and market share while nurturing relationships to enhance business profitability.
Reporting to the Hub Segment Sales Manager, you will work on developing winning tactics with the Sales Support team, identifying opportunities for early engagement with end customers, and emphasizing ABB's key value propositions. Strong influencing, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are essential, along with an entrepreneurial outlook. A good grasp of the market segment's demands, customer budgeting processes, and purchasing behaviors is crucial.
This role can be based in Brisbane, Singleton, or Sydney.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the Sales Budget for the assigned accounts and pipeline growth
- Driving revenue and implementing strategic plans for market share growth
- Building relationships and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance business profitability
- Monitoring competitors' activities and contributing to response strategies
- Applying standardized Marketing & Sales processes and tools
- Promoting a culture of Compliance & Integrity within the organization
- Identifying speaking opportunities at technical seminars and events
- Understanding customer business drivers and aligning sales strategies accordingly

Qualifications for the role

  • Engineering degree with extensive experience in Oil and Gas, Chemical, and Refinery sectors
  • Proven track record as an Account Manager in the same segment
  • International and cross-division experience
  • Knowledge of DCS, ICSS, ENMCS solutions
  • Familiarity with similar market solutions
  • Fluency in English
