Reporting to the Global CFO, the Senior Financial Accountant works closely with senior management to increase a company's efficiency and profitability by assisting with the formulation of both the medium and long-term financial plan.

To be successful in the role knowledge to manage company's financial accounting and tax is required.

This position will oversee the USA operations of Wellcom, thelab, and Dippin' Sauce as a micro network in a parent and larger holding company, with those reporting responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:


This is a unique opportunity to work within a supportive group finance team based in Melbourne whilst taking responsibility for the financial operations of the groups USA based division.

This role will require flexibility in the working hours (specifically early morning starts), given continuous collaboration with our New York office, and government bodies in the USA is required.


Other specific responsibilities will include:


Work with Business Regional heads to build their annual budgets and forecastsAnalyzing US financial and operational results to better understand the Group performanceCommunicate to senior management the reasons behind the product/department performance and resultsCommunicating results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operationsProvide insights to senior management around financial modeling, forecasts and profitabilityOversee the statutory reporting process, support financial accountants in preparation and co-ordinate audit requirementsAbility to coach and support other finance team membersUndertaking of US tax requirements including but not limited to (income, sales, use, withholding etc.).

Candidates must possess a strong understanding of deferred tax accounting (knowledge of the USA tax system will be advantageous, but not essential).Liaise with all government bodies on Federal, State & City levelsLiaise with auditors, banking institutions, tax accountantsCollaborate with overseas finance teams to prepare group wide analytics on an adhoc basisSupport divisional managers with timely financial analysis, pricing of service, contract review to assist with proposalsOversee local roll-out of financial ERP, and financial integration with production softwareYour BackgroundYour strengths are your ability to provide accurate information and to know the detail behind your numbers without losing sight of the big picture; your ability to act as a business advisor by providing clear thinking analysis; your passion for enhancing systems and processes; and, your interest and competence in supporting people within your team.

You must have qualifications (CA/CPA). Suitable candidates will have either big 4/mid-tier firm experience or an industry background with experience in the above areas.

This role will be hybrid based with a balance of office work and working from home.
