Black Rhino Group is currently the leading Hotel/Pub operator in Victoria, South Australia & Queensland. Over the past 6 years, we have expanded significantly from 9 pubs to 42 locations. Black Rhino Group specializes in owning and operating hotel gaming venues across Victoria, S.A., and now Queensland, making us the largest independent owner/operator in Victoria. We are seeking a skilled finance professional to join our team and support the Group's financial reporting and external audit/tax compliance.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensuring accuracy in the weekly and monthly reporting of all venues
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in yearly tax and audit compliance
  • Managing income tax obligations, including BAS, IAS, FBT, and other tax requirements
  • Handling PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and BAS lodgement
  • Managing State Revenue Office liabilities such as payroll tax and land tax
  • Reviewing and analyzing periodic Profit and Loss reports
  • Overseeing bank reconciliations, general ledger, journal, month-end processing, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing the fixed assets register

Management of Finance Team Tasks:

Our finance team, consisting of 20 staff based in the Philippines, is led by a Team Leader who oversees their daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and reporting. As part of the team, you will assist the Financial Controller in managing these tasks, which include:

  • Accurate recording of weekly financial activities in Xero Accounting through manual journals
  • Handling creditor invoices recording and payments
  • Managing payroll functions including payroll reports and banking files
  • Conducting bank reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Maintaining capital expenditure and asset records
  • Producing Profit and Loss statements within set timelines
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with audit information collection and documentation

Qualifications / Experience:

Accounting degree or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years of experience
