Introduction:


We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Village Handyperson and Maintenance staff member to join our team at Sanctuary Cove.

As the Village Handyperson and Maintenance, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks in our village community.

Your role will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation and appearance of the village facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting, to keep the village facilities in excellent condition.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and common areas to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from residents and staff in a timely manner,and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Carry out routine repairs and maintenance tasks, including fixing broken fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and repairing appliances.
  • Assist with landscaping duties, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and maintaining gardens.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and report any deficiencies or needs for restocking.
  • Coordinate with external contractors when specialized repairs or maintenance work is required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and provide reports as necessary.
  • Support other staff members and contribute to the overall cleanliness and attractiveness of the village.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in maintenance work, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Good problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labour.
  • Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and communication purposes.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to work in compliance with them.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to work independently or as part of a team.
