Salary: SCHCADS 5 $93,860.00 plus super and salary packaging up to $15,900 plus meals and entertainment card $2650
We are currently looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Foster Carer Assessor in Toowoomba.
The main goal of this role is to enhance the well-being of children and young individuals in the Foster Care program by supporting and empowering Carers. The position involves training, evaluating, developing, and retaining carers to ensure they can offer a safe, secure, and caring environment for children who are unable to live with their families temporarily.
As a Foster Carer Assessor, you will act as a representative for carers, advocating for their needs and fostering their continuous growth as volunteers in the Out of Home Care Sector. Additionally, you will assist in onboarding new clients, aligning their requirements with the capabilities of carers, and managing various portfolios.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Understanding of relevant theoretical frameworks for children in alternative care
- Knowledge and application of child protection laws and protocols for at-risk children
- Proven track record of advocating for those in need and achieving positive outcomes
- Proficiency in assessment techniques
- Expertise in conflict resolution, influence, and negotiation
- Familiarity with statutory and related service systems pertinent to out-of-home care
- Previous experience in the Out of Home Care sector is highly beneficial
- Work experience with complex families is advantageous
- Proficiency in managing complex cases involving children, youth, and families
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to devise tailored solutions
- Excellent time management, organizational abilities, and interpersonal skills
- Sound professional judgment
- - Ideally, a degree in social work or equivalent recognized in Australia
- - Training and assessment skills in Foster Care (e.g., Shared Lives/Step by Step)
