About the Chief of Staff / Executive Director, Office of the Secretary role

The Chief of Staff in the Office of the Secretary is responsible for the provision of continuous, coordinated, and effective advice and support to the Cluster Ministers, Secretary, and the Executive Team in the Stronger Communities Cluster.

The responsibilities of the Chief of Staff / Executive Director, Office of Secretary will also include:

  • Provide trusted and balanced advice to the Secretary on policy, strategic, and organizational matters.
  • Lead and manage the Office of the Secretary, serving as the primary point of contact with the Minister's office and coordinating information and support between the Department and Minister's office.
  • Influence highlevel decisions on expenditure across the Cluster and assist with the management of relevant Governance groups.
  • Offer timely expert strategic advice to Cluster Ministers and the Secretary on core business, programs, and services within the Principal Department and Stronger Communities Cluster.
  • Foster collaboration and integration across the Cluster, ensuring consistent approaches to advice, programs, and services while implementing policy projects and government priorities.
