And now a bit about the Swim School Instructor role:

An MSAC Swim School Instructor is responsible for providing a customer focused service that will develop the students swimming ability in a fun and positive learning environment.

This is a casual role, with specific and consistent shifts that need to be filled.

You must be available to work across the below times:

  • Monday to Friday 04:00pm 07:00pm

Desirable but not required:

  • Saturday 8:30am 1.15pm
  • Occasional school groups 9am3pm

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Instruct and assess water familiarisation, buoyancy, and mobility skills to maintain 100% compliance to MSAC's level and assessment criteria.
  • Document class attendance records and skill progressions in conjunction with School Swimming Program supervisor.
  • Interact with participants and/or parents regarding the progress of their swimming skills to maintain an open and professional communication with all stakeholders.
  • Respond to emergency situations as required to provide a safe environment for students and guests.
  • Work in conjunction with others by showing strong Melbourne Sports Centre's ETHOS elements (Dedicated, Curious, Motivated, Teamwork, Positive)

Required skills:

  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certificate and license
  • Valid CPR Certificate
  • Valid Victorian Working with Children's Check
  • Strong Customer Service skills in relation to communication, feedback, and conflict resolution

Desirable Skills:

  • Teacher of Infant Aquatics or equivalent
  • Teacher of Aquatics for People with a Disability or equivalent
  • Teacher of Adults
  • Teacher of Competitive Strokes
