About the Role:

We are currently looking for experienced Electrical Project Engineers to join our Utilities and Infrastructure team in a full-time capacity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.

This position involves leveraging technical knowledge and experience to contribute to the design, procurement, and delivery of electrical equipment and services for infrastructure projects such as Primary and Secondary electrical HV substation work.

The role will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Designers, Construction team members, and other stakeholders to plan and deliver projects safely and efficiently, maintaining Beon's reputation for reliability and quality.

In this role you will deliver:

  • Provide technical support to the Project Manager in Electrical Engineering
  • Build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders for successful project delivery
  • Contribute to project planning, scoping, and estimating
  • Facilitate communication between designers, constructors, and equipment manufacturers/suppliers to manage delivery risks
  • Assist in design Constructability, Operability & Maintainability reviews
  • Review project quality management requirements, prepare QA/QC documentation, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Propose ideas for enhancing team delivery and personal contribution

To excel in this role you should have:

  • Bachelor of Engineering - Electrical
  • Victorian Professional Engineer Registration (or eligible)
  • Project Management qualifications are beneficial
  • Knowledge of Primary and Secondary electrical equipment and systems in High Voltage Substations
  • Understanding of project management principles in an EPC context
  • Expertise in sourcing, procuring, and managing suppliers and service providers
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an engineering construction environment
  • Experience in risk management and Health & Safety practices
  • Experience with Grid Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is a plus
