We are seeking an experienced Manager (Workforce & Capability) to join the team at RoadTek, a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads. We provide transport infrastructure solutions for projects across Queensland. We are a multi-disciplined organisation with accreditation to national and international standards. Reporting directly to the Director, People and Systems, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both the operational and strategic aspects of the business, including strategic workforce planning, business partnering, industrial relations, performance and case management, attraction and retention and capability development.
This is a temporary, full-time position and is located in the Brisbane CBD, with the opportunity to work remotely up to 50% of the time once established

The Manager (Workforce and Capability) is responsible for effectively leading a geographically dispersed team across all disciplines, including Human Resource Operations, Industrial Relations and Capability Development. The role will require high-level interdivisional communication across TMR to further Strategic Plans and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders. The incumbent will drive a positive workplace culture to ensure RoadTek continues to strive towards becoming a sustainable and contemporary organisation that empowers our people for success.

The successful candidate will initially immerse themselves in the Industrial relations elements of the role. RoadTek's industrial landscape is complex which covers both 'blue' and 'white' collar workforce. RoadTek is the lead branch for all negotiations and actions for the TMR Operational Employees Certified Agreement. Priority will be finalising current agreement commitments and contributing to the IR strategy and negotiations for the next agreement.

To be successful you will need:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar Human Resource leadership position

• Strong generalist knowledge of HR, performance management, capability development, employee and industrial relations

• Excellent organisational skills and thrives working independently in a fast paced environment

• A track record of overseeing complex case and performance management processes

• A 'hands on' approach to working across all operational matters

• Experience developing, implementing and actively managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to identify and drive the continual improvement of organisational development activities

• The ability to work under pressure in an environment of competing priorities and managing multiple tasks within strict deadlines
