In this role you will:

  • Lead the internal audit (IA) function for the department through appointment as Head of Internal Audit and by managing co-sourcing arrangements, the annual IA workplan, IA Charter and quality control of IA reports and recommendations. Provide assurance and enhanced accountability through delivery of internal audit products that reduce risk and improve control and compliance frameworks. Build a culture that embraces IA and risk management to ensure a proactive continuous improvement approach to the effective management of the department. Perform the ARC secretariat function by coordinating Audit & Risk Committee meetings, including preliminary briefing meetings with the ARC Chair and other key stakeholders as required. Lead the development and annual review internal audit, risk management, internal compliance frameworks and ARC performance. Lead the preparation of complex and sophisticated reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence to senior management in response to departmental and whole of government matters relating to IA and enterprise risk management. Lead strategic planning and provide expert strategic advice on corporate governance
  • Liaise, negotiate, and develop effective networks with internal and external stakeholders including central government agencies and Queensland Audit Office. Other duties as directed and required.
