The Supporting Recovery program will deliver Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) trauma-informed mental health care services within South West Sydney to support victim-survivors in their longer-term recovery.


Key elements of the service include:

  • Victim-survivors of FDSV and their families have free access for up to 2 years to evidence-based trauma informed mental health care.
  • Provision of psychological therapies and other appropriate wellbeing and social interventions.
  • Collaborations with other services to facilitate coordination of care and assist with referral pathways.
  • Community engagement activities to increase community awareness.

Purpose of the role:


To provide family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) trauma-informed mental health care services, including psychological therapies and other appropriate wellbeing and social interventions within south western Sydney to support victim-survivors in their longer-term recovery.

Reporting to the Clinical Lead, this is a Permanent Full-Time or Part-Time role, based at Liverpool or Campbelltown.

There may be some requirement to work outside of standard business hours depending on client need.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Provide traumainformed mental health care services to victimsurvivors of FDSV.
  • Ensure the delivery of best practice psychological therapies and wellbeing interventions.
  • Ensure services are welcoming, accessible, compassionate, personcentred, trauma informed, culturally safe and inclusive of all who present. Include perspectives of First Nations peoples, people with disability, members of LGBTQIA+ communities and people from CALD communities.
  • Work collaboratively with Local Care Team, Catholic Care colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure a positive experience for program clients.
  • Ensure services are consistent with the Supporting Recovery Model of Care.
  • Ensure all case notes, data collection and reporting requirements adhere to organisational quality standards.
  • Adhere to program risk management framework to identify and mitigate program risks.
  • Contribute to the safety culture by keeping the workplace complying with safe work practices and support other team members to comply with safe work practices.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience needed:

  • Tertiary degree qualification applicable to role i.e. psychology, counselling, social work, nursing or similar.
  • Registration with relevant professional body i.e. minimum level 2 ACA, PACFA provisional, APHRA, AASW.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence.
  • 2+ years experience working with clients experiencing mental health challenges and FDSV (mandatory).
  • Previous experience supporting CALD clients (desirable).
  • Willing to complete a Police check and holds a WWCC or willing to obtain one.
  • Covid19 Vaccination highly recommended
