About the Role- This role reports to the Director of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
- This position fulfils accountabilities and responsibilities in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives.
- Provide within a multiprofessional team evidencedbased clinical care to inpatients and outpatients with the whole spectrum of digestive diseases. The position is predominantly based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, but duties may include providing care at other Queensland Health facilities within the Health Services District.
- This role provides specialist Gastroenterology clinical care to patients and assumes overall responsibility for patient care
Services provided include:
- Specialist services at Metro South Hospital and Health Service, including liver transplant
- Inpatient care, including participating in the oncall roster (for the management of gastrointestinal emergencies, and urgent medical problems of patients with digestive and liver diseases.
- Elective and/or emergency diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Inpatient consultations as requested
- Outpatient consultations
- Multidisciplinary clinics and meetings
- Supervision and teaching of registrars, junior doctors and medical students, and teaching for other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Participation and or leadership of research and quality improvement activities
- The position is predominantly based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, but duties may include providing care at other Queensland Health facilities within the Health Services District
