MJ Quinn Fleet department presently operate over 1900 vehicles.

The job holder will be at the forefront of our Fleet Operations, responsible for overseeing the management of our Fleet.

You will lead the Fleet management strategy, drive performance, control costs and ensure regulatory compliance and best practices

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Joint Head of Fleet.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and operations of our fleet department.

You will work closely with the Head of Fleet to ensure the smooth functioning of our fleet and to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibility'sAll aspects of Fleet Management including commercial, operations, compliance and innovation.

Ensure full contractual and legal compliance of goods and services whilst managing suppliers to perform strictly in line with all contractual obligations.

To be responsible for all the day-to-day operations within the Fleet department and provide support to all members of the team.

To be fundamental in developing MJQ's working culture, its reputation and valuesEnsure all vehicles conform to all legal, quality, economic and environmental requirements.

Act as the company representative for the Goods Vehicle Operators Licence; ensuring full governance and complianceManage Fleet related budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and help identify both current and future cost savings.

Review present Fleet management strategy, including vehicle sourcing and maintenance & repair models.

Contract management of external service providers including, but not limited to, vehicle maintenance, telematics, leasing and hire Lead the commercial decision-making process relating to vehicle selection to ensure the most effective and efficient solutionSet, manage and audit supplier SLA'sDeliver improvement of operational performance of the fleet, whilst minimising the operative downtimeSeek to maximise fuel economy and management of fuel card usage and overall company activity attributed spend.

Lead, motivate and develop the fleet management team.
Lead on sustainability issues to help minimise the environmental impact of our fleet.

Oversee the liaison with internal stakeholders to ensure the prompt and full recovery of any owed moniesLead driver road risk / driver safety programme and co-ordinate with other fleet resourcesEnsure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company standards and policies.

Manage the process of periodic audits on service maintenance and fleet compliance.
Monitor and report on fleet performance, using data to drive improvements.

Oversee the monitoring of driver conduct and vehicle roadworthiness and report accordingly to all relevant stakeholdersOversee the analysis and reporting of vehicle related information to help monitor and improve driver behaviour, and overall management of the Fleet.

Review present Fleet processes and implement change where requiredAnalyse and own commercial activity within the Fleet Department and advise on improvements.

Provide advice and guidance to peers and operators on Fleet compliance issuesMaintain and enforce Company standards throughout the Fleet department.

Hold monthly 1-2-1's with all Fleet senior managers and record details against the company policies and processes Successful deliver training requirements against an agreed matrixOversee successful resolution of existing KPI'sAgree, set and measure future KPI'sMust have held a national Certificate of professional Competence [CPC] for at least 5 years'Evidence of strong commercial management experience within a Fleet operationProven track record of developing a Fleet strategyStrong IT skills, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power PointAt least 5 years' experience in a similar role Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Detailed knowledge of Operators licence compliance including:
Driver's hours and record keeping, maintenance of vehicles, overload prevention and Driver management.
Experienced in the management of vans and associated regulationsStrong commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving cost efficiencies.
Proven ability to achieve best value.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent presentation skills.

Duties:
– Collaborate with the Head of Fleet to develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies– Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all vehicles in the fleet– Monitor vehicle performance and ensure compliance with safety regulations– Manage fleet budget and expenses, including fuel costs, maintenance, and repairs– Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for procurement of vehicles, parts, and equipment– Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as insurance providers, regulatory agencies, and vehicle manufacturers– Implement efficient scheduling and routing systems to optimize fleet utilization– Supervise a team of fleet technicians and drivers, providing guidance and support as needed– Conduct regular inspections to ensure fleet vehicles are in compliance with company standardsSkills:– Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team– Excellent organizational and time management skills– In-depth knowledge of fleet management principles and best practices– Proficient in using fleet management software systems– Strong analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written– Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentIf you meet the above requirements and are ready to take on this challenging role, we would love to hear from you.
