About the Role


We are seeking a Librarian who thrives on collaboration and service excellence, to support our Leeper Library staff in the provision of a high quality and efficient day to day library service that is responsive to the teaching, learning and research needs of the Trinity College community.


To be successful in this role, you will partner with academic staff and students to understand their information needs and work to enhance the resources and facilities available to support their needs.

You will develop initiatives to enhance the student experience and increase collaboration and would work both in the library and in classrooms.


In addition, you will also contribute to the day-to-day functioning of the library including, collection management, work on the circulation desk, cataloguing, providing reference services to users of the library and conducting library tours.


About You

  • A tertiary qualification at degree level in Librarianship or Information Management and demonstrated library work experience. Experience working in a library in a secondary or higher education environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and experience using a library management system and using social media for marketing and engagement
  • Ability to liaise with academic staff and work with students to provide their information needs
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral and online) with good presentation skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Welldeveloped computer literacy in Microsoft Office Applications, preferably in a Mac Environment, with the ability to learn new systems.

Contract Type:
This is a part-time (0.8 fraction/4 days per week) ongoing position. Working days will be Tuesday to Friday.

Salary:
Band Level 3.S FTE $80,596, plus 10.5% Superannuation and Leave Loading 17.5%
