Purpose of the Role:

The key role of Supply Planner / Purchasing Officer, which sits within the Aftersales Supply team here at Nissan, will see you involved in all things planning and supply chain.

The ultimate purpose of this role is for you to support the Nissan business and customers with an optimal inventory pipeline that maximises customer service, whilst at the same time, minimise inventory holding and costs.


As a recent graduate in a supply chain and/or related field, the team at Nissan will support and guide you, ensuring you are set up for future success.


  • To be effective in this role you will need to:_
  • Engage proactively with a portfolio of suppliers, both local and overseas to ensure timely and accurate delivery of product to Nissan's 3PL warehouses or customer direct as required
  • Work collaboratively with, and support 3PL warehouse operations to ensure inventory is receipted into stock efficiently and accurately
  • Manage the resolution of all discrepancies
  • Monitor the shared team mailbox to ensure all correspondence receives immediate attention, and is replied to as necessary
  • Contribute to the resolution of dealer enquiries via the iQ help desk system and telephone loop as needed
  • Support export operations to New Zealand and other markets, including both sea and air freight shipments
  • Build productive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to consistently deliver the best possible whole of business outcomes.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Validation of systembased forecasts and suggested orders to maintain optimal inventory levels to support demand
  • Determination of optimal freight method mix
  • Compilation and submission of supplier orders
  • Performance benchmarking and management of local and overseas suppliers to ensure agreed service levels are maintained
  • Performance management of 3PL warehouses (inbound and export) to ensure smooth and timely operational outcomes
  • Monitor and respond to all incoming correspondence via the team mailbox in a timely manner
  • Anticipate and manage all discrepancies and administrative tasks arising from the performance of the role
  • Collaborate with other business units to understand and support their objectives
  • Design and implement strategies to ensure parts and accessories requirements are met in full in a timely manner
  • Actively participate in planning meetings and activities
  • Write and maintain as necessary Standard Operating Procedures for all facets of the job function

Experience and Education:

  • A bachelor degree in business, either completed or in progress, preferably in a supply chain related discipline
  • Supply Chain knowledge, and experience in a similar environment
  • Experience and / or an interest in the automotive industry would be an advantage
  • A demonstrated team player who can work crossfunctionally and crossculturally, with a conscientious, thorough and precise mindset coupled with a high attention to detail
