Your role


We have a great opportunity for an Associate to join our highly regarded national Health Industry Group in Brisbane specialising in health regulatory, privacy and advisory work.

Working closely with Partner Sonja Read, and a national team, you will have exposure to a variety of work including:

  • Undertaking privacy impact assessments on complex projects;
  • Due diligence for health sector transactions;
  • Drafting of agreements and advice relating to medical research and clinical trials; and
  • General health law as it relates to the daily operations of health providers and medical practitioners e.g. issues of consent, substitute decisionmakers.
Our clients are predominately within the private and government health and research sectors throughout Australia and overseas.

More about you

  • Strong technical skills in legal research, statutory interpretation (including privacy laws), and contract drafting;
  • The ability to deliver clear, quality, commercial and pragmatic advice under pressure;
  • A strong interest in working for clients in the health sector, even if this has not been the regulated sector that you have worked in to date;
  • A strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients and industry experts;
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment;
  • An interest in and willingness to contribute to business development initiatives including presentations, client training and publications;
  • Resilience and a commitment to excellence that matches our own; and
