Position Summary:

This position is part of the Sales Helpdesk team, which is dedicated to assisting our commercial sales team by promptly addressing inquiries from our Territory Managers, Product Specialists, and Sales Specialists. As a team member, each operator carries out essential tasks and ensures the prompt and accurate delivery of responses directly to customers or through the requesting party. Operating with a queue management tool, the role involves optimizing processes and removing bottlenecks to enable Thermo Fisher Scientific to excel in customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer initial support to the field sales team by responding to customer queries regarding quotations, product information, standard pricing, and stock availability.
  • Communicate with customers on behalf of the field sales team regarding the information they need.
  • Collaborate with the commercial teams to maintain visibility of your interactions with customers and communicate any necessary actions or follow-ups.
  • Use a system to record sales support activities.
  • Coordinate the 'goods on approval' process and maintain precise records to ensure process compliance and minimal disruption to the Masterpack (ERP).
  • Manage the goods return process (return authorization).
  • Utilize supplier catalogs, online databases, and other relevant resources to find product alternatives when necessary.
  • Participate in product/vendor/systems meetings to stay updated on new products and current systems.
  • Investigate and address any customer inquiries resulting from incorrect or delayed shipments.
  • Adhere to occupational health and safety policies to create a secure and healthy work environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in a scientific field or relevant experience
  • Prior experience in sales or customer service
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and achieving results through teamwork
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks

  • Proficiency in digital tools, specifically Microsoft Office, and willingness to learn new software
