A bit about the role


As the Engineering Operations Coordinator within our Roads and Maintenance department, you will lead the Asset Rehabilitation, Civil Maintenance, and Consents & Permits units in the ongoing management and maintenance of Council's civil assets.


You will proactively manage risk and Council reputation as well as ensuring operations and maintenance functions are managed in accordance with Council plans, policies, legislation, service level and customer service standards.


Ideally, you will also utilise your relevant qualifications and experience to provide engineering review, support, advice and solutions of the creation, maintenance, rehabilitation and renewal of road related infrastructure.


What you'll do

  • Develop, implement, measure and review strategies and plans to aim for operational excellence in managing, maintaining, servicing Wyndham and meeting community expectations
  • Continuous improvement of operations and maintenance performance including fostering a highperformance culture and adoption of suitable technologies for best practice in asset maintenance, enabling modelling/programming, works and financial management
  • Coordinate and manage the delivery of assigned capital works, operational related projects, maintenance activities and asset protection.
  • Lead and promote a positive safety culture that fosters a strong commitment and proactive approach to safety and inclusion amongst staff
  • Lead and promote a positive customer experience, focusing on proactive communication and responsiveness

What you'll bring

  • Relevant qualification (e.g Civil Engineering), and/or substantial equivalent experience (Highly Desirable)
  • Professional Engineers Registration in compliance with the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 (Highly Desirable)
  • Highly developed organisational and project management skills with the ability to work under conflicting pressures and achieve agreed outcomes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of asset life cycle including maintenance and rehabilitation interventions
  • Experience in managing large operational workforces
  • Current WorkSafe construction induction accreditation or ability to gain one (white card)
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
