Part-Time Cash Office Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Cash Office Assistant to join our team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the accuracy and security of our daily cash operations.
Working three days a week, including possible Saturdays, you will be responsible for reconciling till takings, investigating discrepancies, and contributing to the overall financial integrity of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Accuracy: Ensure the precision of our daily cash transactions by diligently reconciling individual till takings, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring all financial records are balanced before banking.
- Cash Security: Maintain a high level of cash security by securely locking the office and safe when not in use, and strictly upholding the confidentiality of financial information.
- EPOS Management: Efficiently manage the backoffice EPOS system, accurately recording sales, refunds, store vouchers, staff discounts, and other transactions.
- Petty Cash: Daily maintenance and balancing of the petty cash float, including thorough recordkeeping and adherence to established guidelines.
- Change Management: Facilitate an uninterrupted supply of change for tills by coordinating with the bank to order and exchange currency as required.
- Communication Hub: Serve as a central point for incoming calls, directing them to relevant departments and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Lost Property: Document and track lost property found within the establishment according to established protocols.
- Supplies Management: Monitor inventory levels, place supply orders with suppliers as needed, and maintain an organised inventory.
- Announcements: Utilise the instore tannoy system to make clear and concise announcements, enhancing communication within the store.
- Mail Handling: Accurate sorting and franking of external mail, with timely delivery to the post office.
- Operational Flexibility: Be open to assisting with tasks beyond this description as directed by your line manager.

- Proficient in using common office software.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and customers.
- Demonstrated integrity and commitment to maintaining financial confidentiality.
