The Safe House provides residential and outreach case management to men, women, young people and families living in the community who have experienced trafficking & modern slavery, including forced marriage.

The Safe House works within a person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed care framework to ensure the best outcome for all who seek our assistance.

About the role


We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Manager to work with survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in an accommodation service setting.

You will successfully

  • Offer appropriate and highquality support to individuals identified to have experienced human trafficking, slavery and/or slaverylike practices, through a clientcentred and trauma informed case management framework
  • Effectively manage case load as allocated by the Program Manager
  • Complete assessment, intake and case planning, providing comprehensive case management and referrals to relevant services to ensure holistic support
  • Operate as part of an integrated network and work in a collaborative way with other Salvation Army programs and external partners and service providers
  • Attend relevant network and interagency meetings, represent the organisation in specific working groups and shared projects
  • Promote and support clients' selfadvocacy and contribute to policy advocacy, research, community education and outreach
  • On Call Duties

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (min. Diploma) in Community Services, Social Work or related disciplines
  • Experience in Trauma Informed Care and Strengths Based Practice
  • Experience working with people who have experienced human trafficking, forced labour, slavery; and/or migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, survivors of domestic violence
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Solid level of experience in complex case management role
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the community services sector
  • Ability to work on a rotating oncall roster (one week per month), shared between the team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice, professional development and continuous improvement
  • A positive attitude, flexible approach and a team player
  • A current and valid NSW Drivers Licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia

Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a Full time, permanent position, based at a confidential address in metropolitan Sydney.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award level 5
