Role Purpose:
As the Mechanical Technician, you will carry out preventive and curative actions as well as maintain, repair, improve and expand the installations in order to keep production running and optimize the operation of the installations.
You will repair mechanical breakdowns, construct and adapt the installations based on the plans of the technical draughtsman, managers or external parties.
Responsibilities:
Technical installations:
Undertake preventive maintenance and/or renew and/or expand the technical installations to prevent failures and breakdowns and to optimize the availability and capacity of the installations.- Maintain installations according to the preventive maintenance program- Replace, repair, renew and improve the installations and their parts (preventively or correctively)- Follow up the (process) technical characteristics of the installations- Correctly interpret the processes, drawings, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams, procedures, etc.
Reparations :
Repair mechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic malfunctions.- Analyze the cause of the problem- Prepare maintenance work by using correct tools, spare parts, drawings, procedures- Correctly solve the problem by replacing or repairing parts (assembling, disassembling, welding, grinding, burning and sheet metal work) and escalate to or consulting with the responsible person or colleagues in case of irregularities- Provide input to improve plant operations to prevent future similar problems, and discuss with the responsible person- Prepare spare parts on SAP program
External organisations:
Assist external technicians with the installation of new machines, perform all connections, adjust machines and, if necessary, escort outside firms around the company premises.
Production:
Assist operators with problems that obstruct production in order to get production back up and running as quickly as possible
Safety:
Monitor compliance with construction plans, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.- Ensure the necessary actions, including administration such as LMRAs, are taken to ensure the safe operation of the facilities Ensure that the necessary PPE is available for each installation and that it is used correctly- Make correct use of the available tools and associated proceduresAbout you:To be successful in this role you will need:
- Qualifications in Mechanics or equivalent by experience
- Good knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Knowledge of materials and techniques (lifting and hoisting techniques, welding techniques,..) with the execution of operational activities
- Knowledge of general technical regulations and safety rules
- Technical English

- Be able to work independently, pro-active and team player
