About the Team:


The Provider & Market Development Division within the Market Stewardship and Home & Living Group is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic and tactical plan for the stewardship of a market of the Agency providers.

The Home and Living Innovation Branch works with the sector to identify, test and evaluate new and improved ways of designing and delivering home and living supports through the implementation of home and living demonstration projects.

The Home and Living Innovation Branch leads the identification, design and delivery of contemporary home and living supports that are effective and efficient for participants, providers and the Scheme.


About the role:


The APS6 Project Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

You will be required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.

It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency's objectives.


Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework.
  • Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
  • Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
  • Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
  • Identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits.
  • Contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.

Mandatory:

  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
  • Experience working within a compliance and regulatory framework
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work in a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of the National Construction Code
  • A commitment to the principles and practices of an inclusive workplace
  • Experience in the preparation of briefs and ministerial correspondence
