About the Opportunity:

This individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to optimize the use of data in achieving operational and strategic objectives. The role is best suited to candidates who possess a robust analytical mindset, outstanding communication skills, and a proven track record of deriving actionable insights from data.

What you will do in the role:

  • Engage with multiple business units to understand their role within the organisation, and how data & analytics can support their decision-making.
  • Seek out avenues to apply data & analytics for enhancing business value, operational efficiency, and improved customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance our large catalogue of reports, dashboards, and self-service tools – through rationalization, visualization & UX improvement.
  • Implement data governance policies and standards to maintain data quality and integrity.
  • Work with data engineers to ensure precise execution of business rules and data transformations.
  • Cultivate a data-centric culture through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and increased data literacy / analytical capability across all business functions.
  • Manage the queue of requests for new reports, data extracts, report enhancements, bug fixes – provide business users with effort estimates & timelines for delivery.
  • Combine hands on technical work with effective delegation to other team members to ensure efficient use of resources.

  • Proficiency in data analytics languages (must have SQL; DAX / MDX / python beneficial)
  • Proficiency in dashboarding & reporting tools (Power BI & SSRS Report Builder preferable).
  • Familiarity with data pipelines (SSIS & ADF preferable).
  • Working knowledge of Databricks & SSAS cubes.
  • At least 5 years' experience, preferably in a retail environment (supply chain / logistics, omni-channel sales, marketing, product

This role is integral to Adairs' data strategy: managing the high level of demand for our existing analytical solutions while simultaneously helping develop and execute the transition to our cloud-based data stack.
