Key Responsibilities:

Environment, Safety and Health:

  • Zero LTA's (safety) or environmental incidents
  • Attend required safety and environmental training programs.
  • Support environmental corporate social responsible projects

Supplier Quality:

  • Ensure supplier area of responsibility is in compliance with the ISO & customer standards/requirements.
  • Continually work with suppliers to improve performance, implement process control & quality plans.
  • Provide support for supplier quality system improvements.
  • Develop action plans based on preventive actions, risk reduction, statistic control of the process, standardized work, error proofing devices implementation and control of nonconforming product.
  • Interact routinely with Purchasing, Engineering, Contracts & suppliers to proactively improve quality of components.
  • Perform supplier visits and audits to Yellow & Red ones.
  • Analyse supplier capabilities. Maintain supplier performance management system in accordance with the WEIR Supplier Quality Manual.
  • Development & deployment of quality improvement initiatives with suppliers in support of defined quality targets. Management of quality & other continuous improvements projects
  • Ensure cost associated with nonconformities are transferred to suppliers and recovered.
  • Provide support to Operations on quality concerns.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • 35 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent qualifications. Strong communication & project management skills. Excellent technical and engineering skills. Experience in working with cross functional teams with internal and external members. Experience with ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS Proven knowledge of statistical analysis techniques (SPC), able to carry out Capability Studies on Components. Experience in design and process reviews, including P&DFMEA. Ability to plan, arrange, coordinate, organize and conduct surveillance within the company and on external suppliers and manufacturers. Working knowledge of Poka-Yoke and Error Proofing Systems Experience with supplier development process and supplier improvement. Relevant experience in Microsoft programs.
