We're on the lookout for an Operations Manager to join our team in charge of Concrete and Quarries operations in Regional QLD NT. This key role, based in Townsville, QLD, involves developing and overseeing strategies for Concrete operations in the Northern region. Reporting to the GM Concrete & Quarries Regional QLD NT, the Operations Manager will focus on enhancing operational performance, product quality, cost-efficiency, plant availability, and exceeding customer service expectations while maintaining a safe work environment.

This permanent, full-time role covers operations in Townsville, Cairns, Mackay, Airlie Beach, Gladstone, and Rockhampton with occasional travel required.

Your typical day will include:

  • Guiding your team with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, quality, and respect.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and mentorship to cultivate a high-performance and positive work culture within a large team, including managing 5 Area Managers directly.
  • Creating annual budgets, ensuring proper resource allocation to achieve volume, price, cost, production, and financial targets.
  • Developing and executing strategies to maintain full operational capacity of plant and equipment while meeting safety and environmental regulations.
  • Aligning personnel and assets with demand changes to ensure cost-effectiveness and productivity levels are optimized in line with sales volume.
  • Overseeing customer relationships to understand their needs and provide exceptional service, exploring long-term business opportunities for mutual benefit.
  • Identifying areas for operational enhancement through analysis, benchmarking, and implementing strategies to drive efficiency and consistency.
