The Community and City Services Division puts people, families and community at the forefront of our work.

Working within our Community Development Branch, The Digital Placemaking Lead will lead the development and continued evolution of the City of Melbourne's online digital placemaking and engagement portal, Participate Melbourne, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
This position focuses on working with a variety of community and internal (CoM) stakeholders to lead, develop and maintain the City of Melbourne's digital placemaking platform.
Selection Criteria
All CoM employees will demonstrate an ability to articulate and demonstrate benefits of positive culture and values.
- Leadership capability including leading by example and consistently working towards a constructive culture.
- Leading, contract managing and implementing appropriate governance systems and protocols for the development and ongoing operation of the CoM digital placemaking platform.
- Designing and implementing a marketing, communications and training plan to build capacity within the organisation to utilise the digital placemaking platform and other online engagement systems to their ultimate potential.
- Developing and implementing the appropriate governance arrangements both within CoM and with external agencies to enable participation and partnership in developing and ongoing maintenance of the digital placemaking platform and new neighbourhoodbased knowledge system.
Digital Placemaking Lead will ideally have the following:
- Analytical and lateral thinking skills and the ability to take the initiative, drive change and implement innovations
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain business plans and associated budgetary and financial management requirements
- Proven experience in developing supporting materials: governance frameworks, protocols, and training to support an online engagement hub.
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and innovative within a changing environment.
