There is a remarkable opportunity for a highly experienced **Planner** with over 15 years of solid experience to join our APAC Planning team in Sydney or Newcastle.


Our team consists of skilled and motivated Planners with a passionate approach to both life and work. Currently, we handle a range of projects in the built environment, energy, and infrastructure sectors. This role calls for a planning expert, inclined towards Business development alongside technical excellence.


We are seeking a market-facing leader to cultivate new relationships, nurture existing ones, and develop staff to help us reach our full potential.


As a **Technical Director** and a key member of the planning leadership team, we are in search of an individual who can influence the growth trajectory of our team.


We operate in a flexible office setting, taking pride in our laid-back and positive culture, hosting regular social events, and receiving favorable client feedback.


Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support the Planning Manager in expanding the Planning Team's market presence across professional networks in NSW
- Actively identify and nurture new opportunities and relationships within the built environment sector
- Provide planning analysis and research from a commercially astute perspective to deliver exceptional outcomes confidently
- Present Expert Evidence in the Land and Environment Court
- Stay updated on legislative and policy modifications within the planning domain
- Manage multiple projects concurrently without direct supervision
- Guide and lead junior staff to contribute to the overall team growth
- Collaborate with clients, councils, consultants & other government bodies
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects within a consulting environment


Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Over 15 years of hands-on experience with tertiary qualifications in town planning or equivalent, with post-graduate qualifications being advantageous
- Past experience in a senior/ leadership role within a consulting environment
- Demonstrated technical independence working across various sectors, particularly town planning, property, and development
- Proficiency in business, client, and project development
- Eagerness to share knowledge by mentoring junior staff
- Comprehensive understanding of project budgets and deliverables while upholding our excellent client service reputation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
