My client is seeking a Programme Master Scheduler to join the team responsible for delivering a mission critical government project.

The programme aims to conduct a high-quality, impartial, effective, and efficient election in accordance with NSW legislation. This major state-wide exercise involves multiple projects that require seamless coordination and scheduling to meet immovable deadlines.

Role Overview:

As the Programme Master Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in managing scheduling activities to support the overall delivery of the NSW government project.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated master schedules, tracking programme work, time, phase, and resource utilization requirements.

The focus of this role is on supporting the projects within the Programme while maintaining a programme-wide view. The contract for this role will run until 30 August 2024.

Key Responsibilities:


Develop and maintain integrated master schedules, identifying all major events and dates to track programme work, time, phase, and resource utilization requirements.

Monitor and analyze project schedule logic and status, ensuring updates for scope changes and slippages.
Report a consolidated view of the key milestones across the programme with a clear critical path identified.
Provide effective tracking and reporting on milestone management and dependencies.

Collaborate with programme/project managers to identify risks and opportunities, perform schedule change impact analysis, and provide insights to support decision-making.

Deliver schedule performance reports in response to regular and ad-hoc requests from Programme Manager and other stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of standardized methods, tools, and techniques for consistent and efficient scheduling.
Provide integrated resource modeling, forecasting, and planning for projects to support the development of project plans and critical paths.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
Demonstrated experience as a Program Master Scheduler in a large and complex program setting.
Proven experience in undertaking schedule risk analysis and assessments.
Solid understanding of scheduling best practices and standards.
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to engage stakeholders to verify status updates and schedule integrity.
Familiarity with working in an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, Programme Management Office, and Programme environments.
Strong leadership qualities and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in an organization with competing demands.
Strong analytical capabilities, including issue and risk identification and mitigation/resolution skills.
High energy levels and the ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently.
Ability to work well under pressure, with a proven track record of delivering to immovable dates.

Essential Requirements:

Politically neutral with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/campaigners.
Satisfactory Criminal Record check result.

Key Challenges:

Ensuring continual schedule visibility and the ability to deliver in an environment with immovable deadlines.
Encouraging effective collaboration among Project Managers supporting highly interdependent projects within the Programme.
Reporting in a clear and effective manner to enable executives to make timely and informed decisions.
Early identification of delivery risks and providing remediation actions.
