An exciting opportunity exists to join the team as a
Switchboard Operator at
Wollongong Hospital.

Wollongong Hospital Switchboard is 7 days pw 24hrs, various shifts including night shifts included in roster

What you'll be doing
To provide an efficient and customer focused service both personally and over the telephone.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria

• Proven previous recent experience on a busy switchboard.
• Previous experience of online paging system.
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to edit and maintain Operator Workstation Directory Manager or similar directory software.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain administrative tasks.
• Demonstrated ability of Outlook / Office MS, IPM and navigate Internet Explorer.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally with members of the public and staff with a courteous and strong responsive customer focused service and an appreciation of confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting and commitment to harmonious work relations.
