About the role


We are seeking a values-driven Workshop Support Worker to provide support, guidance, and supervision to participants from Disability Support Services, Drug and Alcohol Services, and Community members accessing the Workshop.


You will be required to source and purchase equipment and stock for the various Workshop programs, undertake administrative tasks necessary to ensure the running of the Workshop program and develop and implement appropriate workshop projects for participants taking into account of their skill and competence.

You will successfully

  • Manage the supervision of participants effectively and safely in the various Workshop programs
  • Complete phone assessments and introduction meetings with new participants entering a program
  • Maintaining a safe environment
  • Sourcing and purchasing equipment for the effective running of the workshop programs, including wood, tools, and other related items
  • Facilitate projects that maximise the participants skills and capabilities
  • Supervise, guide and support Assistant Workshop Officer and Volunteers
  • Record intake notes and accompanying intake assessments and individual contracts of service
  • Participate in the performance appraisal process
  • Maintain knowledge of and participate in relevant risk prevention activities
  • Contributes to the ongoing development and improvement of quality and compliance systems
You will have

  • Certificate/Diploma or Degree in Community Services, Education, or similar area of study
  • Experience of working with people with disability will be highly regarded
  • A National Criminal History Check is required
  • A Disability Worker Exclusion Screen (DWES) is required
  • Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date
