Our client is one of the largest privately owned heavy engineering groups in the Southern hemisphere based in Gillman and are now seeking the services of an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team on a full-time basis.
Working within a small team and reporting to the CFO you will be someone who has been in a similar role with your core function of overseeing the payroll function across multiple businesses and locations throughout Australia.
Some of the core responsibilities include:
Accountability for weekly and fortnight payroll of up to 200 employees.
Management of payroll support personnel.
Oversee and coordinate the onboarding and offboarding of new and existing employees in line with Fair Work standards.
Provide accurate payroll reporting to multiple stakeholders.
End of month reporting for statutory entitlements e.g. payroll tax, superannuation, portable long service leave, income protection insurance, etc.
Provide ongoing coaching and leadership to all indirect and direct colleagues.
Regular engagement with third party suppliers e.g. medical providers, labour groups, software providers etc.
Some of key attributes we are seeking:
Experience being accountable for a similar size payroll.
Demonstrable knowledge of key payroll principals.
Ability to work independently, proactively and with initiative as called upon.
Well organised to ensure each daily & weekly deadlines are met.
Ability to work in a reactive environment and manage time effectively.
Pro-active attitude communicating with all internal & external parties.
Excellent PC skills and experience with Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of the modern awards would be advantageous.
