The Cyber Security Education and Influence Specialist is a 12-month full time, fixed term position that will provide cyber security training and awareness to employees, contractors and third parties with access to the company's data and systems to uplift cyber safety and help prevent a cyber-attack.


This role uses a continuous improvement model to prepare awareness content aligned with the cyber threat landscape and company risk profile and use this material to train users in cyber safety, and test understanding through phishing simulations.


What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and maintain cyber awareness content to support training requirements.
  • Identify and utilise a variety of channels to support content delivery according to stakeholder needs.
  • Promote and support cyber security awareness initiatives lead by government, such as Cyber Security Awareness Month, Privacy Awareness Week and Safer Internet Day.
  • Present awareness content in person or online to individuals, small teams and large groups across the organisation.
  • Identify and respond to stakeholder training needs, with consideration given to stakeholder role, location, topics of interest and cyber security maturity.
  • Produce reports, metrics and presentations on current state and areas for improvement.
What you'll bring

  • Strong experience developing and delivering a cyber security awareness program tailored to the current threat landscape and organisational risk profile.
  • Experience in producing cyber security awareness content such as newsletter articles, podcasts and social media posts.
  • Experience in presenting training to individuals, small teams and large groups of stakeholders in a large diverse organization.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing cyber security eLearning modules.
  • Previous experience administering a cyber security awareness platform.
  • Experienced in reviewing large datasets, capturing metrics and producing executive reports.
  • Familiarity with security controls, frameworks, and standards (e.g., ISO27001, NIST CSF and ASD Essential 8).
  • Ability to train users on requirements set out in policy.
  • Some knowledge of information protection frameworks including classification schemas, data handling and labelling, data loss prevention.
