About the team


Sitting under Transports Corporate Services division, they provide strategies, solutions and services that make our clients' working lives easier, and their projects more efficient and effective.


The fixed Asset Accounting team's core focus is to look after the end-to-end lifecycle of fixed asset and all financial leases.

Our team has adopted a Hybrid way of working. We currently come together once a week and for moments that matter. The team hub is located in Burwood.

The opportunity


Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a SSC Lease Accountant to join us in the fixed Asset Accounting team for a
12-month fi xed term basis.


The primary purpose of the role is to support one of the specialised financial accounting teams within TSS Finance.

The role provides high-quality and accurate processing of financial accounting transactions and enquires, ensuring that issues are resolved satisfactorily and speedily and in compliance with legislation, policies, and accounting standards.


Key accountabilities

  • Undertake the process of lease contract AASB16 creation and modification.
  • Support timely identification and rectification of outstanding lease accounting related items through collaboration with finance teams in TfNSW operating entities.
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a courteous way, demonstrating a willingness to assist and a commitment to providing highquality service.
  • Work cooperatively with the accounting operations /fixed asset team, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes.
  • Suggest improvements to financial accounting processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Achieve the required shared services performance levels in terms of customer satisfaction, efficiency and effectiveness of accounting services provided.

About you
You are a passionate SSC Lease Accountant looking for an opportunity to make a difference at TfNSW.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • CPA or CA qualified or in the process of obtaining these qualififcations
  • Experience working in financial accounting in a large organisation
  • Experience working with Assets and leasing
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and commercial accounting practices relating to government organisations.
  • Sound numeracy ability with solid analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Previous experience in SAP is essential

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 5A ($87, E ($95,984) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
