Working closely with the General Manager, Operational Engineering - you will play a pivotal role in managing and controlling physical access and security across Powerlink's operational sites. Your leadership will be crucial in developing and executing strategies to grant access, protect, and monitor physical assets, as well as implementing first-line assurance activities to ensure effective controls are in place.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive 24/7 physical security and access strategy, including the creation of security operations protocols to monitor and protect all Powerlink operational sites.

Leading a team, you will drive continuous improvement in Powerlink's technology services by investigating and implementing new and emerging technologies. You will enjoy tackling complex problems that require deep analysis of unpredictable issues and multiple variables.

You will also lead the development and delivery of professional technical expertise in Physical Security and Site Access solutions, including Operational Asset Management and asset strategies. Additionally, you will represent Powerlink internally and externally by participating in technical committees, working groups, and conferences, showcasing Powerlink's innovative and cutting-edge practices.

As a key member of the Operational Engineering team, you will hold critical responsibilities that encompass pivotal actions, such as facilitating training for Field based personnel to improve their understanding of the latest in physical security, as well as formulating and implementing strategies to enhance physical security in line with established objectives, devising holistic solutions that drive improvements across the division.

Your expertise
  • Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering or tertiary qualification in Security or tertiary qualifications in Emergency Management
  • C class drivers license

With strong business acumen, you excel in adopting contemporary working methods, thinking critically, and understanding key business drivers. You translate these insights into sound commercial principles across all areas of responsibility.

You bring demonstrated experience in developing and delivering Asset Strategy standards and strategies within an operational environment. Additionally, you drive the continuous development of expertise, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements.

You have demonstrated ability to drive safety strategies, policies, and practices, showcasing personal engagement by proactively identifying risk areas and implementing effective mitigation strategies.

Your flexibility and adaptability within teams, along with your proficiency in navigating evolving markets, are crucial. We value autonomy, proactive engagement, and mature problem-solving skills.
