About the role

Together with your job-share partner, you will lead and coordinate the Visitor Experience and Historic Heritage functions across Northern Victoria Region.

You will provide expert advice and support to district, regional and corporate teams and external project partners.

You will co-lead visitor experience and historic heritage planning, programming and management, including asset and risk management, strategic and delivery planning, program and budget development, and staff training.

In this role you will be contributing to the development and review of regional operations to ensure service delivery is matched with community and stakeholder needs.

You will work closely with Traditional Owners to develop and realise shared projects and communicate visitor experience and historic heritage objectives.


We're looking for someone with:

  • A tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in Park Management, Heritage, Recreation or another relevant field
  • Experience in engaging with stakeholders and maintaining effective partnerships
  • Experience in planning or managing visitor experiences and/or historic heritage
  • Experience in providing expert and technical legislative and policy advice and support
  • A current Resume
  • A cover letter addressing the Key Selection Criteria (KSC) as outlined in the position description.

About the Region

The Northern Victoria region encompasses 1.7 million hectares of parks and reserves, extending from the ranges north of Melbourne to the NSW and South Australian borders.

It includes the semi-desert landscapes of the Mallee, the historic Central Victorian Goldfields and the extensive waterways and wetlands along the Goulburn and Murray Rivers.
