  • Support continued care for cardiac patients following discharge


The Cardiology Department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital is a large tertiary and quaternary service providing care to all cardiac patients with special expertise in complex arrhythmias, adult congenital heart disease, structural interventions, cardiac genetics and combined cardiac pregnancy service.


  • We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Allied Health Assistant or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join the Heart Failure Service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Your new role:

  • In this position in the newly established Heart Helper Project you will work with clients at home for the first 12 weeks after discharge from an admission with heart failure.
  • Working together with the physiotherapist team leader, heart failure nurses, doctors and exercise physiologist the Allied Health Assistant / Endorsed Enrolled Nurse will have a pivotal role in helping the client navigate the health system, participating in Telehealth Heart Failure Clinics as well as being involved in developing and then implementing an at home cardiac rehabilitation program and also transitioning to community care.

About you:

  • You hold current Allied Health Assistant Certificate IV (HLT43015) or equivalent / AHPRA Registration as an Endorsed ENrolled Nurse (Division 2) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years experience as an Allied Health Assistant / 12 months acute experience as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse medication endorsement.
  • You demonstrate excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • You have high level communication skills.
  • You possess efficient administrative skills.
