About the Role


The MHU has undergone major redevelopment and is opening its doors to a new facility with a capacity of 102 beds, including new
youth and older adult units. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the growing MHU OT team, leading and contributing to the OT service development across the inpatient mental health setting.


About You


To succeed in this role, you will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with proven experience in an acute and/ or inpatient mental health setting.

Your capacity to lead and mentor a team, along with your ability to communicate effectively and maintain relationships with patients, staff and stakeholders is essential.


Essential

  • Demonstrated ability to provide assessment, intervention and evaluation of people with mental health diagnosis within an MDT, in an acute mental health setting with a minimum experience of 35 years
  • Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead program development in response to organisational need
  • Proven leadership and highlevel problemsolving skills, with a solution focused approach
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complex requirements and operational challenges of the services within the mental health portfolio

Desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to lead/contribute to quality initiatives/service improvement activities and projects
  • Experience working in youth or older adult mental health services
