The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for a vibrant individual to lead the Strings Department at Loreto Toorak. This is a prestigious role that emphasizes excellence, engagement, collaboration, and leadership within our vibrant community.

The Head of Strings role is a 3-year position with an ongoing teaching role starting in Term 4 (Monday, 7th October) 2024.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating instrumental and ensemble teaching in the Strings Department
  • Instructing private instrumental students
  • Supervising string students in the music program
  • Contributing to the annual Music Camp
  • Organizing workshops and performance opportunities
  • Leading the Year 3 Strings Program
  • Participating in music performances and events
  • Maintaining strong communication with music staff and the Loreto Toorak community
  • Guiding students and staff with professionalism and in line with the school's ethos
  • Other duties as outlined

Qualifications

We are looking for a standout individual with expertise in string pedagogy and collaboration. You should have a deep understanding of instrumental programs and be proficient in leading a team of string teachers. Technical knowledge and proactive problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
