The Position

St John of God Burwood Hospital is located in Sydney's inner west and has continued to provide personalised private mental health care in a supportive environment for over 60 years. We provide a compressive range of outpatient and inpatient services. The hospital has a strong reputation for perinatal mental health, having established the first mother and baby unit in Sydney.


We are looking for a
Receptionist to join our team at Burwood to provide cover across evening shifts from
4pm-8am.

This will be a casual position that may include some full days.


Working as a receptionist you will provide exceptional customer service, which ensures the Hospital, operates efficiently for both doctors and patients in line with our Mission and Values Statement.


  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Previous Reception and frontline customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and management of the privacy laws.
  • Disciplined work practices to meet the guidelines of the organisation's policies and procedures.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel and an ability to summarise key financial and operational information in a summary report.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, network and consult effectively with members of the Health Services, Health professionals, Government Agencies at all levels.
  • Professional management of customer relationships on the phone and in person.
