Personal care for a quadriplegic male - Arthurs Creek - Sleepovers/Inactive
Our existing team is looking for a new addition to assist in supporting our high care male (29 years old) client on the outskirts of Melbourne's Northern suburbs.
This is regular ongoing work, with the same shifts, same time each week, with extra fill in shifts also available.
We need some one who is reliable and committed.The shifts are as follows
08.30 am to 06.30 pm
06.30 pm to 10.30 am ( Inactive sleepovers at times it is active)
- Companionship & social support
- Provide transport
- Showering, toileting & dressing
- Manual transfer & mobility
- Assist with medication
- Must have a reliable vehicle Victorian drivers license to get to this job location
Support details
This will involve turning and repositioning, manual handling throughout the day and night. Medication administration.
Bedtime routine involves being supported to get undressed prior to getting into bed, hoisting (electric) from wheelchair to bed and then being positioned.
Use slide sheets to move into different positions throughout the night, depending on how sleep. The client has a catheter that needs to be checked throughout the day/night and emptied.To be successful:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check. (need to have prior to commencement)
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum of 12 months' workrelated experience in similar role (Desirable)
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or Community Support or working to the equivalent (desirable)
- Valid Driver's Licence with access to a comprehensively insured vehicle (required)
- Competent in written and verbal communication
