About The Role

Whitehaven Coal is offering a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join the People & Culture team. Based in the Gunnedah region and reporting to the Group Manager - Human Resources, this role involves providing comprehensive HR support to Leaders and employees. The position collaborates closely with the broader People & Culture team, key business stakeholders, and is an integral part of the site leadership team.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Offer in-depth advice, support, and education for leaders on people processes, policies, and employment legislation
  • Demonstrate expertise in ER/IR processes like workplace investigations, performance management, and EA negotiations
  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure workforce optimization, capability, and organizational design
  • Support annual HR cycles in performance, remuneration, and benefits; engage in continuous improvement initiatives and HR projects
  • Utilize HRIS tools to facilitate and back business activities

What You'll Contribute:
  • 3+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in mining, heavy industry, or construction sectors
  • Higher education qualifications or working towards acquiring them in Human Resources
  • Demonstrated knowledge of optimal HR/ER practices and employment laws
  • A track record of successfully executing HR programs and change management
  • Proven proficiency in formulating and executing human resource strategies and programs
