These solutions are delivered as projects, shutdowns, and critical maintenance services for customers in the Mining, Oil & Gas, and Infrastructure sectors.


Our business unit is growing rapidly and to support our Mission we have created a new role of Continuous Improvement Lead, supporting the IWS Leadership Team and reporting to the National PMO Lead.


About the role
This role will establish and drive a continuous improvement function, with the following significant outcomes:

  • Improved business performance for the IWS business by driving continuous improvement through the management of the IWS Management Framework and the program of business unit improvement initiatives.
  • Improved project and shutdown performance by measurement and reporting of tendering/estimating, delivery and governance of projects and shutdowns.
  • Improved investments in IWS Service Line Improvements, through benefits analysis (business case and PIR) of industryleading service lines and technology deployment.

The responsibility will include the following activities:

  • IWS Management Framework:
  • Prepare reports for the IWS Leadership Team with continuous updates and reporting of the logical configuration and relationship between Cleanaway 2030 Blueprints with IWS goals, strategies, and risks.
  • Drive the framework that delivers IWS KPI performance reporting, the effectiveness of current controls, and investments in initiatives to improve controls.
  • Monitor ongoing plan deviations and make recommendations for corrections through IWS actions, initiatives, and issues management.
  • Develop strong crossfunctional relationships and provide advice that leads to the satisfactory delivery of wholeofIWS initiatives.
  • Improved project and shutdown performance:
  • Working for the PMO Lead to develop and drive Program Status Reporting (cost, time, quality, risk); collating and quality-assuring reports for regional, national monthly Operational and BU Management meetings in a timely fashion; making recommendations for timely corrective actions with relevant stakeholders where required; creating weekly project dashboards for the PMO Lead to use as the dashboard as the foundation for senior management reporting.
  • Make timely recommendations to the PMO Lead for improvements to the Project Status Reporting process and/or specific reports.
  • Reporting the program financials for accruals, forecast, contingency and reconciliation of actuals.
  • To the satisfaction of the PMO Lead, creating and managing a Project Improvement System/Process to collate best practices and lessons so that project deliverables may be assessed for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards.
  • IWS Service Line Improvement capability:
  • Ensuring that the centralised function for customer and internal cost saving initiatives and innovations support profitable revenue and margin growth by conducting benefits analysis for vetting, investment and by conducting and reporting on Post Implementation Reviews.

About you

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or higher in Business/Commerce/Accounting with CA/CPA desirable and/or accreditation in one or more continuous improvement methodologies essential (LEAN, Six Sigma, TQM, Kaizen, etc.) LEAN6 preferred
  • Experience in business analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Strong financial analysis skills including budgeting and forecasting under uncertainty.
  • Strong ability to analyse data and convey valuable information clearly both verbally and visually (graphs, reports)
  • The ability to analyse financial and nonfinancial information against the business' stated objectives and strategy and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Ability to produce reporting and governance packs in a timely manner.
  • Able to communicate and manage relationships up to GM level.
  • Experience of SharePoint, portfolio management tools and ERPs (JDE experience highly desirable)
