About the Position:

The Adolescent Medicine department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead is offering a temporary Staff Specialist position for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Addiction Psychiatry role. This is a temporary position with commencement as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on delivering excellent clinical care to children and supporting their families
  • Undertake research and teaching in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The successful candidate will provide psychiatric consultation for children, young people, and families referred to the Care and Intervention for Children and Adolescents affected by Drugs and Alcohol (CICADA) service. The role also involves working in various clinical teams within The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network.

Requirements:

  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and Mental Health
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement
  • Availability for on-call duties and to respond on-site promptly
